About
As of November 2019: I live in Olympia, WA, an hour south of Seattle on the tip of Puget Sound. I am nigh-on 60. I have always looked forward to being “old” because when you are middle aged, you’re just that strange lady the younger generation rolls their eyes at, but when you get old enough then you are simply ECCENTRIC. I have been practicing being eccentric for a long time, so I expect to be rather good at it once I get there. I live in San Angelo, TX, till I was 12, then northern Utah for 6 years until I moved to eastern Washington to go to college in 1978, and have been in western Washington since 1985. I consider myself a native Western Washingtonian who just happened to have been born somewhere else; grey skies and rain don’t bother me – I just love the year-’round green green greeeeeeeen. I grew up Southern Baptist, was in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church for over 25 years with my husband, and have now been in the Evangelical Covenant for some 9 years. My spiritual journey has taken me through a lot of dark places, but always God’s loving grace and mercy have been there to get me through in spite of myself. My husband of 37 years retired back in 2016, and now putters with photography and his 47 bonsai trees in our back yard. We have five kids, currently 25 to 34. We homeschooled all five from start to high school graduation. It was a marvelous adventure, but I was sure glad when I finally retired! The oldest daughter and both sons are married, and between them have given us a perfect six-pack of grandprincesses from 10 to 1-1/2, and our first grandSON is expected in March 2020. Being a grandma is The Best Thing Ever! I love good puns, bad puns, and glazed puns with sprinkles. I wish I liked to exercise. If I were a car, I’d have been recalled under “lemon laws” decades ago; the chassis looks good, but under the hood? Oy vey. Having Bipolar 2, I am an ardent advocate for mental health issues. I have been an animal lover all my life – fur, feathers, or scales (though I admit hairless dogs and cats creep me out.) I enjoy reading, sewing, fixing things, organizing, crossword puzzles, and board games that do not require deep strategy, but writing is my passion and words are my favorite toys. I hope you appreciate the results.
